Autumn is the moment when the wardrobe is rebuilt. These are the fabrics, colours and silhouettes that define autumn 2026 — and how to add them without replacing everything.
Fabrics: weight returns
After a summer of linen and cupro, dense nidha returns. The reason is practical: it falls straight and keeps its line, even under a coat.
Crêpe is the most versatile choice of the season. Firm enough for wind, light enough for heated rooms, and almost crease-free.
Wool blends are new this autumn. They keep you warm without the heaviness of several layers — a clear improvement on layer upon layer.
Velvet returns for occasions, but in a matte version. Shiny velvet now looks dated.
The colour palette
Deep neutral tones dominate:
- Cocoa brown — the season's signature colour, softer than black and richer than beige
- Ink blue — the elegant alternative to black, especially beautiful in artificial light
- Muted forest green — deep without being gloomy
- Dove grey — the cool neutral that completes the palette
- Matte burgundy — the only true colour accent, on a single garment
Black stays central, but is worked: texture, a contrasting detail, or combined with deep brown to avoid a solid block.
Silhouettes: thinking vertical
Winter weighs things down through the stacking of layers. The season's answer is the vertical line: long straight cuts, side slits, and open coats that draw two parallel lines.
Layers stay, but limited to two. The contrast comes from the fabric, not the colour — for example a matte abaya under a slightly lustrous coat.
Tone-on-tone sets have an advantage here: a single colour from top to bottom instantly lengthens the silhouette.
Hijabs this autumn
Thick jersey dominates, for a simple reason: it stays in place without pins and protects from the cold. Chiffon and Medina silk move indoors and to occasions.
The strongest trend: tone-on-tone with the outfit. Less contrast, more coherence — that is what looks immediately polished. A colour accent, if you want one, moves to an accessory.

What disappears
- Shiny satin in the daytime
- Busy prints, replaced by texture
- Three or more layers over each other
- Strong colour contrast between hijab and outfit
- Visible logos
Preparing the season with four pieces
- One abaya in thick nidha, in a deep neutral — the base
- One set for busy days
- One festive piece in matte velvet or devoré
- Three to four hijabs in thick jersey, within your colour family
You need no more to cover everyday, work and occasions.
The right time to buy
Autumn collections generally arrive in late August and September. That is the best moment: all sizes and colours are available, and it is precisely the neutral tones that sell out first.

In summary
Autumn 2026 calls for fabrics with weight, deep neutrals and a vertical line that keeps the layers in balance. The season rewards coherence more than quantity.
